Tonight - Age Of Persuasion Book Launch

I'm sure everyone will be busy tonight working away on the latest interactive brief, but for those who have a few hours to spare, there's a book launch you might want to check out.

Terry O'Reilly, living legend, founder of Pirate Radio, and host of CBC Radio's The Age of Persusaion has just written a book aptly titled The Age of Persuasion: How Marketing Ate Out Culture. If it's anything like his radio show, it will be incredibly educational and even more entertaining.

The Age of Persuasion is for those who say "advertising doesn't work on me" as well as those who want to understand how this industry has become inseparable from modern culture. Using their popular CBC Radio series as a starting point, Terry O'Reilly and Mike Tennant tell the fascinating story of how modern marketing came of age - from the early players to the Mad Men of the 1960s and beyond. With insider anecdotes and examples drawn from pop culture, they also probe deeply into the day-to-day workings and ethics of a business that is rapidly evolving in the age of Facebook and YouTube.

So if you're interested, RSVP by clicking HERE and then head over to Ben McNally Books at 366 Bay Street (just south of Queen) at 6:00. If you're going to attend, let me know and I'll keep an eye out for you.
